Drug Label Color Analyzer

This tool retrieves the image from a drug label page on DailyMed and analyzes its dominant RGB colors.

How it works: Enter a prescription drug name and get a visual breakdown of the most prominent colors from its label image.

• RGB: The Red, Green, and Blue components of the color.
• Hex: The hexadecimal code used in digital design.
• PMS Match: Closest Pantone Matching System color from our current custom database.
• Distance: Euclidean difference between the detected color and its PMS match.
• Score: Confidence level returned for the detected color.
• Color: A visual swatch of the actual color.

RGB-to-PMS matching is an approximation:

RGB is an additive color model. It's based on light. Pantone is a subtractive color model, based on physical, pre-mixed inks. The RGB value to a Pantone color is essentially looking at the digital RGB color and finding the closest available match from the thousands of pre-mixed Pantone swatches.
